WRONG WAY will be an illustrated zine featuring personal stories of undocumented individuals who have come to the United States “the wrong way.” This project challenges the criminalization of migration and centers human dignity, shedding light on the complex realities faced by those fleeing oppressive regimes and navigating a broken U.S. immigration system.
Each story will be paired with original illustrations that amplify the courage, grief, and resilience inherent in every journey.
If you have a story—your own or that of a loved one—you’re invited to submit it, along with any photos or ephemera from that time. Submissions will be handled with strict confidentiality. Only selected stories will be included, and all participants may choose a pseudonym. Nothing will be published without your explicit consent.
This is more than an archive—it is an act of solidarity.
Proceeds from zine sales will go directly to legal defense funds supporting undocumented individuals facing detention or deportation.
